pic for my poem, The Forgotten on my blog site

It is sometimes in our busy lives

We may get so caught up with everything

That we may not notice our loved one’s silent cries.

Your life now revolves around work, sports and kids,

Making your mom and dad feel like their time was outbid.

When was the last time you called your mom or dad?

If it has been that long that you can’t remember,

Well then it is worse than one thought, as it has gotten that bad.

Your parents must be feeling rather lonely and terribly sad.

When was the last time you had spent time

With them as in a sit down meal?

If it really has been such a long time, can you just imagine

How lonely and forgotten they must feel?

Have you ever thought about even inviting them to your child’s game?

Because just thinking about them doesn’t count

 For it just not the same;

We may not intentionally try to make our loved ones feel forgotten.

But, because of our busy schedules that’s how things have actually gotten.

You can change this whole thing all around

By making time for them now,

Instead of waiting for another day to be found;

Because what happens if today

Ended up being their last day spent on this earth?

Was this time spent away from them, really all its worth?

Could you really live with all that guilt

That you would be holding in your mind?

For the time you have now missed out on,

You shall never again be able to find.

No one should ever have to feel forgotten don’t you think?

Because I am sure if this happened to you,

 The happiness you now carry would be gone in a blink.
