Don’t Waste Another Moment

The moment each of us is born there is a countdown,
A beginning to an end.
Each second we are here is purely a gift that was given to us,
As our lives are virtuously here on lend.
“We are here on borrowed time” as many might say.
So why not make the most of every day,
Rather than always living with the promise
Of doing something on another day.
Sometimes with our busy schedules we start to forget what actually matters most in life
And so we compromise what should be really done with all our time.
We need to slow down a bit in the meantime
Because when was the last time you gave your mom or dad a call?
Or visited your neighbour or even
Dear Great Uncle Paul?
Many of us live our lives like there is always tomorrow
But to live like this may later come with some regret or rather an unforeseen sorrow,
As that little to do list may have been put off far too long
Because that loved one may not be here tomorrow
As you expected them to live so long;
Rather they may have been called home instead,
To heaven where they will now eternally belong.
Why waste another moment then when you can actually do so today
Leaving you with no more remorse, as there will be
No more unfinished business now left in the way.
