Fitting In (Starting a New School or Job)

Posted on: January 21, 2013

Are you starting a new job or new school?
And feel like you just don’t fit in.
It’s as if your life has taken a tailspin.

It is so hard to feel accepted because everyone has been friends
Or worked together for years and you are a newcomer.
It feels as though your life has gotten sadder
And no close to being brighter.

The most important thing you can do is just be yourself
And stay positive and upbeat.
Don’t try being something others want you to be
Because it just won’t work
And in reality you will feel more miserable and incomplete.

Eventually others will see your inner beauty shine through.
Don’t give up or quit because
You will sooner or later feel like you belong
And fitting in will no longer be an issue.

If you are someone who sees someone new at your school or workplace
Try saying, “hi” and making that person feel welcome
And in turn this will make you feel good too.

I agree with when you see someone new at work or school try to welcome them. I did that to someone at work. 🙂
